While this affects a few development details, everything has been done to make the transition **as easy as possible**.
iamturns/eslint-config-airbnb-typescript (eslint-config-airbnb-typescript) ### [`v18.0.0`](https://togithub.com/iamturns/eslint-config-airbnb-typescript/releases/tag/v18.0.0) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/iamturns/eslint-config-airbnb-typescript/compare/v17.1.0...v18.0.0) ##### chore - upgrade to ts-eslint v7 ([#334](https://togithub.com/iamturns/eslint-config-airbnb-typescript/issues/334)) ([b00dada](https://togithub.com/iamturns/eslint-config-airbnb-typescript/commit/b00dadaf88e4bf7afd133880478ebc5a8b3f712b)) ##### BREAKING CHANGES - Update [@typescript-eslint](https://togithub.com/typescript-eslint) to v7 or above, and eslint to 8.56.0 or above
prettier/eslint-config-prettier (eslint-config-prettier) ### [`v9.1.0`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-config-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#Version-910-2023-12-02) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-config-prettier/compare/v9.0.0...v9.1.0) - Added: \[unicorn/template-indent], (as a \[special rule]\[unicorn/template-indent-special]). Thanks to Gürgün Dayıoğlu ([@gurgunday](https://togithub.com/gurgunday))! - Changed: All the \[formatting rules that were deprecated in ESLint 8.53.0]\[deprecated-8.53.0] are now excluded if you set the `ESLINT_CONFIG_PRETTIER_NO_DEPRECATED` environment variable. ### [`v9.0.0`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-config-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#Version-900-2023-08-05) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-config-prettier/compare/v8.10.0...v9.0.0) - Added: The CLI helper tool now works with eslint.config.js (flat config). Just like ESLint itself, the CLI tool automatically first tries eslint.config.js and then eslintrc, and you can force which one to use by setting the \[ESLINT_USE_FLAT_CONFIG] environment variable. Note that the *config* of eslint-config-prettier has always been compatible with eslint.config.js (flat config) – it was just the CLI tool that needed updating. On top of that, the docs have been updated to mention how to use both eslint.config.js (flat config) and eslintrc, and the tests now test both config systems. - Changed: \[unicode-bom] is no longer turned off. Prettier preserves the BOM if you have one, and does not add one if missing. It was wrong of eslint-config-prettier to disable that rule. If you get ESLint errors after upgrading, either add `"unicode-bom": "off"` to your config to disable it again, or run ESLint with `--fix` to fix all files according to the rule (add or remove BOM). Thanks to Nicolas Stepien ([@nstepien](https://togithub.com/nstepien))!
prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier (eslint-plugin-prettier) ### [`v5.1.3`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#513) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v5.1.2...v5.1.3) ##### Patch Changes - [#629](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/629) [`985b33c`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/985b33c56f146b2e65ae391a3af57f63b07ecbdf) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - chore: add `package.json` into `exports` map ### [`v5.1.2`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#512) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v5.1.1...v5.1.2) ##### Patch Changes - [#623](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/623) [`8210e44`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/8210e44309b168c7c06185eae8249b2d0eb65815) Thanks [@BPScott](https://togithub.com/BPScott)! - Add exports mapping to package.json, to allow `import eslintPluginRecommended from 'eslint-plugin-prettier/recommended'` to work as expected. Strictly speaking this is a breaking change as it removes the ability for people to import from "eslint-plugin-prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier.js" and "eslint-plugin-prettier/recommended.js" but the former was never recommended in the first place and the latter has only been available for a few days. - [#621](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/621) [`2b09e7f`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/2b09e7fc64f38297c8ca39d087dba1f122ef999c) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - feat: support parsing `markdown` via `eslint-mdx` natively ### [`v5.1.1`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#511) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v5.1.0...v5.1.1) ##### Patch Changes - [#619](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/619) [`b5c0dc5`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/b5c0dc5715616a0f2a0da8b8c077434efc618a3e) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - chore: skip formatting inline scripts in pug files ### [`v5.1.0`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#510) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v5.0.1...v5.1.0) ##### Minor Changes - [#616](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/616) [`3856413`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/3856413420d3d026e5ae84f29c4bd0d558697135) Thanks [@BPScott](https://togithub.com/BPScott)! - Add recommended config for the flat config format. If you are using flat config, import the recommended config from `eslint-plugin-prettier/recommended`. Like the legacy format recommended config, this automatically includes the contents of `eslint-config-prettier`. ```js // eslint.config.js const eslintPluginPrettierRecommended = require('eslint-plugin-prettier/recommended'); module.exports = [ // Any other config imports go at the top eslintPluginPrettierRecommended, ]; ``` ##### Patch Changes - [#614](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/614) [`5270877`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/5270877d169bec05449861c8ad7e6338b0ad47c0) Thanks [@BPScott](https://togithub.com/BPScott)! - Add meta block to plugin. This improves debugging and cachebusting when using the new flat config - [#603](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/603) [`a63a570`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/a63a570f8f3e3d53b90b1cf35e06fd7e3c387a5a) Thanks [@filiptammergard](https://togithub.com/filiptammergard)! - fix: specify `eslint-config-prettier` as peer dependency It's already added to `peerDependenciesMeta` as optional, which means it should also be specified in `peerDependencies`. ### [`v5.0.1`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#501) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v5.0.0...v5.0.1) ##### Patch Changes - [#588](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/588) [`21a7146`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/21a7146d78161307dcc7eaa96f41dac51f7ce89f) Thanks [@krist7599555](https://togithub.com/krist7599555)! - fix: `parserPath` type might be `undefined` on Eslint Falt Config ### [`v5.0.0`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#500) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/compare/v4.2.1...v5.0.0) ##### Major Changes - [#508](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/508) [`910aeb6`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/910aeb60a7456beb6193c634bb8dec1b7181312d) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - feat!: bump peer eslint to ">=8.0.0" and node to "^14.18.0 || >=16.0.0" - [#508](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/508) [`910aeb6`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/910aeb60a7456beb6193c634bb8dec1b7181312d) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - feat!: upgrade to prettier v3 ##### Minor Changes - [#508](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/508) [`910aeb6`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/910aeb60a7456beb6193c634bb8dec1b7181312d) Thanks [@JounQin](https://togithub.com/JounQin)! - feat: add typings support ##### Patch Changes - [#548](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/548) [`82a3db8`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/82a3db878baf1a8f8ef53393069fe23c3a80ce15) Thanks [@fisker](https://togithub.com/fisker)! - fix: add missing dependency `synckit` - [#564](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/pull/564) [`ae7a73c`](https://togithub.com/prettier/eslint-plugin-prettier/commit/ae7a73c6c4b306c617c5dd9baaaa2ae7c0f9f44b) Thanks [@auvred](https://togithub.com/auvred)! - fix: compatibility with prettier@3 without plugins

This might happen when using sparse-checkout. ### [`v15.2.1`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1521) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v15.2.0...v15.2.1) ##### Patch Changes - [#1387](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1387) [`e4023f6`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/e4023f687616dcf4816545b8eefbcce50e255c9c) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - Ignore stdin of spawned commands so that they don't get stuck waiting. Until now, *lint-staged* has used the default settings to spawn linter commands. This means the `stdin` of the spawned commands has accepted input, and essentially gotten stuck waiting. Now the `stdin` is ignored and commands will no longer get stuck. If you relied on this behavior, please open a new issue and describe how; the behavior has not been intended. ### [`v15.2.0`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1520) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v15.1.0...v15.2.0) ##### Minor Changes - [#1371](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1371) [`f3378be`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/f3378be894fb84800341800b1e4f6f8bc8dfd904) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - Using the `--no-stash` flag no longer discards all unstaged changes to partially staged files, which resulted in inadvertent data loss. This fix is available with a new flag `--no-hide-partially-staged` that is automatically enabled when `--no-stash` is used. ##### Patch Changes - [#1362](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1362) [`17bc480`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/17bc480c0f8767407a87527931558de8d1d1551d) Thanks [@antonk52](https://togithub.com/antonk52)! - update lilconfig@3.0.0 - [#1368](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1368) [`7c55ca9`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/7c55ca9f410043016e8b33b3b523b9b7e764acf4) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - Update most dependencies - [#1368](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1368) [`777d4e9`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/777d4e976852af4c181ffbe055f3531343349695) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - To improve performance, only use `lilconfig` when searching for config files outside the git repo. In the regular case, *lint-staged* finds the config files from the Git index and loads them directly. - [#1373](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1373) [`85eb0dd`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/85eb0ddab1eba0c0bcc8cc109e17dc2bbb3d044e) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - When determining git directory, use `fs.realpath()` only for symlinks. It looks like `fs.realpath()` changes some Windows mapped network filepaths unexpectedly, causing issues. ### [`v15.1.0`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1510) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v15.0.2...v15.1.0) ##### Minor Changes - [#1344](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1344) [`0423311`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/04233115a5e25d6fa7d357cbe9d42173ae8a1acf) Thanks [@danielbayley](https://togithub.com/danielbayley)! - Add support for loading configuration from `package.yaml` and `package.yml` files, supported by `pnpm`. ##### Patch Changes - [#1355](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1355) [`105d901`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/105d9012fc92fca549987816406450075cf255f3) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - Suppress some warnings when using the "--quiet" flag ### [`v15.0.2`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1502) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v15.0.1...v15.0.2) ##### Patch Changes - [#1339](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1339) [`8e82364`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/8e82364dd89155e96de574cfb38a94d28b8635af) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - Update dependencies, including listr2@7.0.2 to fix an upstream issue affecting lint-staged. ### [`v15.0.1`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1501) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v15.0.0...v15.0.1) ##### Patch Changes - [#1217](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/pull/1217) [`d2e6f8b`](https://togithub.com/lint-staged/lint-staged/commit/d2e6f8b1e1cd84ba6eb2f3f6a7f650c882987041) Thanks [@louneskmt](https://togithub.com/louneskmt)! - Previously it was possible for a function task to mutate the list of staged files passed to the function, and accidentally affect the generation of other tasks. This is now fixed by passing a copy of the original file list instead. ### [`v15.0.0`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#1500) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/compare/v14.0.1...v15.0.0) ##### Major Changes - [#1322](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/pull/1322) [`66b93aa`](https://togithub.com/okonet/lint-staged/commit/66b93aac870d155ca81302b2574617da99409ca7) Thanks [@iiroj](https://togithub.com/iiroj)! - **Require at least Node.js 18.12.0** This release drops support for Node.js 16, which is EOL after 2023-09-11. When adding a new parser we also define how it will be used based on the [`linguist-languages`](https://www.npmjs.com/package/linguist-languages) data. `tsconfig.json` is a special file used by [TypeScript](https://www.typescriptlang.org/docs/handbook/tsconfig-json.html#using-tsconfigjson-or-jsconfigjson), it uses `.json` file extension, but it actually uses the [JSON with Comments](https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/json#\_json-with-comments) syntax. However, we found that there are many third-party tools not recognize it correctly because of the confusing `.json` file extension. We decide to treat it as a JSON file for now to avoid the extra configuration step. To keep using the `"jsonc"` parser for your `tsconfig.json` files, add the following to your `.pretterrc` file ```json { "overrides": [ { "files": ["tsconfig.json", "jsconfig.json"], "options": { "parser": "jsonc" } } ] } ``` ``` ``` ### [`v3.2.4`](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#324) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/compare/3.2.3...3.2.4) [diff](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/compare/3.2.3...3.2.4) ##### Fix incorrect parser inference ([#15947](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15947) by [@fisker](https://togithub.com/fisker)) Files like `.eslintrc.json` were incorrectly formatted as JSONC files. ```jsx // Input prettier --file-info .eslintrc.json { "ignored": false, "inferredParser": "jsonc" } // Prettier 3.2.4 prettier --file-info .eslintrc.json { "ignored": false, "inferredParser": "json" } ``` ### [`v3.2.3`](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/blob/HEAD/CHANGELOG.md#323) [Compare Source](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/compare/3.2.2...3.2.3) [diff](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/compare/3.2.2...3.2.3) ##### Throw errors for invalid code ([#15881](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15881) by [@fisker](https://togithub.com/fisker), [@Josh-Cena](https://togithub.com/Josh-Cena), [@auvred](https://togithub.com/auvred)) ```ts // Input 1++; // Prettier 3.2.2 1++; // Prettier 3.2.3 SyntaxError: Invalid left-hand side expression in unary operation (1:1) > 1 | 1++; | ^ ``` ```ts // Input try {} catch (error = 1){} // Prettier 3.2.2 try { } catch (error) {} // Prettier 3.2.3 SyntaxError: Catch clause variable cannot have an initializer. In Prettier 3.1.1, you can use `--no-error-on-unmatched-pattern` to simply skip symbolic links. ##### Consistently use tabs in ternaries when `useTabs` is `true` ([#15662](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15662) by [@auvred](https://togithub.com/auvred)) ```jsx // Input aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ? bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb : ccccccccccccccc ? ddddddddddddddd : eeeeeeeeeeeeeee ? fffffffffffffff : gggggggggggggggg; // Prettier 3.1.0 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ? bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb : ccccccccccccccc ? ddddddddddddddd : eeeeeeeeeeeeeee ? fffffffffffffff : gggggggggggggggg; // Prettier 3.1.1 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ? bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb : ccccccccccccccc ? ddddddddddddddd : eeeeeeeeeeeeeee ? fffffffffffffff : gggggggggggggggg; ``` ##### Improve config file search ([#15663](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15663) by [@fisker](https://togithub.com/fisker)) The Prettier config file search performance has been improved by more effective cache strategy. ##### Fix unstable and ugly formatting for comments in destructuring patterns ([#15708](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15708) by [@sosukesuzuki](https://togithub.com/sosukesuzuki)) ```tsx // Input const { foo, // bar // baz }: Foo = expr; // Prettier 3.1.0 const { foo1, } // bar // baz : Foo = expr; // Prettier 3.1.0 second output const { foo1, // bar } // baz : Foo = expr; // Prettier 3.1.1 const { foo1, // bar // baz }: Foo = expr; ``` ##### Support "Import Attributes" ([#15718](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15718) by [@fisker](https://togithub.com/fisker)) [TypeScript 5.3](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-5-3/#import-attributes) supports the latest updates to the [import attributes](https://togithub.com/tc39/proposal-import-attributes) proposal. ```tsx import something from "./something.json" with { type: "json" }; ``` ##### Fix false claim in docs that cursorOffset is incompatible with rangeStart/rangeEnd ([#15750](https://togithub.com/prettier/prettier/pull/15750) by [@ExplodingCabbage](https://togithub.com/ExplodingCabbage)) The cursorOffset option has in fact been compatible with rangeStart/rangeEnd for over 5 years, thanks to work by [@ds300](https://togithub.com/ds300). However, Prettier's documentation (including the CLI `--help` text) continued to claim otherwise, falsely.
