Look into bot hosting

I think we can start looking into tools and services where we can host the bot. Top contenders would be Heroku and [Oracle's free cloud]

Before implementing we should discuss pros and cons and any other caveats that there might be. Moreover, we should consider Database choices and how well we want it to work with (check another issue for database discussion)

I thought about using Vercel, it was developed by the team at NextJS, it can host nodeJS apps, and might be a good hosting provider if we ever want to make a website with NextJS for this project. Their pricing page says that they give unlimited API access on the free plan too.

Currently, I have a bot hosted on Heroku but it goes down on month ends because quota exhaustion.

Oracle's free cloud server is better then Heroku i guess :thinking:

Oracle free tier

Pros

• We get two AMD computers for free
• No limitations on using VMs
• Two Oracle Autonomous Databases with powerful tools like Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Oracle SQL Developer

  Cons

• Can always improve the UI to maintain the services
• Cloud data storage capacity
• Could use more customizability for each storage service

Heroku

Pros

• Ease of use.
• Quick to configure
• Easy to manage and scale.

  Cons

• Not 100% reliable on the cheapest plan; we've had a couple of instances of downtime over the year
• Limited choice of database
• Heroku can get pricey pretty quickly as you scale.
