mbaneshi commented 12 months ago

@reveloper certainly!

To maximize our chance of acceptance we should consider these facts: I bring some guidelines here for reference because I think we should adjust our mindset accordingly .

They welcome both seasoned writers and first-timers. The focus is on delivering valuable content for professionals in the web industry, including:

The target audience consists of :

Articles should offer :

What we should do:

  1. Craft a Relevant Outline:

    • Submit a concise outline (200-300 words) rather than a complete article.
    • Clearly define our target audience, their level of experience, and what they will gain from our article.
    • Highlight why I am the best person to write the article, providing links to previous work and showcasing my expertise.
  2. How to develop the Right Topic:

    • We should select a topic that aligns with the interests of web designers, developers, and online business professionals.
    • Ensure our idea contributes to the community by sharing valuable insights, lessons learned, or practical tips.
  3. Importance of Original Content:

    • We should submit original work specifically created for Smashing Magazine.
    • and avoid duplicating content that has been published elsewhere.
  4. Demonstrate Expertise:

    • We should showcase our expertise by including links to relevant writing and detailing our experience in the field.

In addition to that we should :

. Follow Smashing's Publishing Policy which is as follows:

  1. Selective Publishing: Articles on Smashing Magazine are not published arbitrarily; they undergo a strict review process to ensure they provide value and tangible insights.

  2. Quality Criteria: Each article must meet specific criteria, with an emphasis on content quality. At least two positive reviews are required for an article to be published.

  3. No Hidden Advertisements:

They have exclusive Editorial Process Steps as follows :

  1. Submit an Outline:

    • Outline checks article fit and avoids duplication.
    • Include target audience, takeaways, author's expertise, and main points.
    • Subject-specific editor provides initial feedback.
  2. Write Your First Draft:

    • Develop the article following Smashing style hints.
    • Share early ideas with the editor for feedback.
  3. Submit Your Draft:

    • Add the article to the collaborative tools like Google Docs.
    • Include all elements from the provided template.
  4. Revisions:

    • Editor suggests revisions; may involve subject-specific reviewers for technical articles.
    • Author makes necessary revisions.
  5. A Final Draft: The author and editor agree on the readiness of the article.

    • Passes to the editor-in-chief for final approval.
    • Final drafts must include all original images.
  6. Publication:

    • Author notified of the scheduled publication date.
    • Published article undergoes proofreading.
    • Authors are encouraged to share on social media and engage with the audience.

According to the aforementioned guidelines, my suggestion is as follows :

We should deliver valuable content for professionals in the form of ultimate guides

Our target audience should be: individuals involved in the online business

Articles should offer practical advice based on real experience and well-researched opinions about the diverse platforms and facilities to run an online business.

Especially the importance of the transition to web3 and the problems that it solved in contrast to web2.

We can bring fragment as a sample.

After that, we can touch on tools and best practices.

This is my conclusion based on what I find here and there. I am open to comments, adjustments, and so on. @reveloper @delovoyhomie

reveloper commented 12 months ago

@mbaneshi I mean share your article draft before submitting this.

This should be about TMA. The fragment is not related to TMA. We want to reach developers at first order now.

mbaneshi commented 12 months ago

@reveloper I see, but I bring guidelines and guard line here, for more discussion to reach conclusions.

The best place to gather a huge amount of developers is

Freelancer platform

you can post both as an organization and an individual and provide a link to TON. By posting some projects and providing links, you can guess the result.

Daily developer blog platform

But SMASHING MAGAZINE has an exclusive policy as in the previous comment.

They strictly ban text related to advertisements but warmly accept new fields and opportunities for the developer and insight and opinions that come from research.

I guess Fragment, Telegram, and TON have strong attractiveness for them (transition to web3) and we can cover TMA as well.

Anyway, my suggested approach in contrast to this issue is more time and effort-consuming, more general and effective I think, but the choice is yours. I encourage you, once more to read their guidelines (in the provided comment ) and think about why TMA should be interesting for them or their audience.

mbaneshi commented 11 months ago

@reveloper, I sent my draft outline to the provided telegram account for any consideration.

reveloper commented 11 months ago

@mbaneshi I got it, thank you for this research. This bounty is designated exclusively for the publication of TMA guide/article in Smashing Magazine. If we can't publish TMA docs on the Smashing Magazine, we should close this bounty.

If your proposal pertains to different themes or platforms for a bounty, please feel free to initiate a separate bounty for it.

mbaneshi commented 11 months ago

I'll change my outline based on your preference, and wait for their feedback. I hope everything goes well.

@mbaneshi, please report why we stopped.

mbaneshi commented 9 months ago

So far , they refused to accept this article, they said , they have so many unpublished articles from experienced authors and they can not proceed with this.

Phenzic commented 8 months ago

Perhaps publishing on other blogging platforms like Hashnode, dev.to or could be considered for this task, what do you think @reveloper I’d love to contribute if possible

mbaneshi commented 6 months ago

I decided to ask for it once more. This will be the third time that publishing this article on smash Magazine will be asked.
