Why it's Important? This bot enhances developer engagement and project collaboration by automating bounty management on GitHub, encouraging more contributions and streamlining the open-source development process. An automated solution makes the process more streamlined, effective, and opens up the possibility of higher community engagement, feedback collection, and more active participation of developers.

Problem showcase Currently, TON Bounties lacks an automated system or a bot that can facilitate the bounty lifecycle and most importantly, attracting more contributors and developers, from creation to closure, while promptly notifying the community in developer chats. The interaction and engagement of the community in the bounty program process are not streamlined, leading to communication gaps and potential omission of valuable feedback or participation.

Potential Solution Develop a bot that can operate within TON Bounties GitHub repository. The bot should be able to parse issues, send notifications about bounty creation and closure statuses to developer chats, and prompt user engagement through clickable inline buttons. This will streamline the bounty handling process, enhance community communication and interaction, and foster larger participation in the bounty program.

Defenition of Done

• [ ] Bounty Creation Notification: Automatically parse all issues in a specified GitHub repository and forward a message to designated developer chats (e.g., from TON Dev Kit). This message will inform about the creation of new bountie, request opinions on the initiative, seek possible participation from developers, and highlight the bounty's label (if any). Additionally, each message will include a clickable inline button labeled "Create Your Own Bounty" to encourage proactive community engagement.
• [ ] Bounty Closure Announcement: Upon the successful closure of a bounty — marked by completion or issue closure with an "approved" label — the bot will send a message to developer chats celebrating the achievement. This message will ask developers to view the completed work and engage with the newly introduced feature or solution. The "Create Your Own Bounty" inline button will also be included to foster continuous community-driven project development.
• [ ] Feedback Request on Potential Bounty Closure: When an issue is labeled "Closing Soon as Not Planning" the bot will promptly inform the developer community through chats, requesting feedback and opinions on the initiative before automatic closure in two weeks.

• [ ] Weekly Update Digest: Every Monday evening, a message will be sent out with the following information:

  • Number of active bounties (https://github.com/ton-society/grants-and-bounties/issues/assigned/*);
  • Number of approved bounties (https://github.com/ton-society/grants-and-bounties/issues?q=is:open+is:issue+label:Approved+no:assignee) Actively searching for an assignee;

  • Number of bounties under suggestions. Share your opinion (https://github.com/ton-society/grants-and-bounties/issues?q=is:open+is:issue+-label:Approved).

    Along with a call to action for community feedback and participation, accompanied by the "Create Your Own Bounty" button.
