Samsung Multi-Purpose Sensors Not Working w/ HomeKit #357

New to Homebridge, but have loved it. Initially used it to connect Nest to my HomeKit and I am running it off of a Synology.

Recently heard of ability to integrate SmartThings and Homebridge. I needed window sensors and wanted leak detection/temperature in my crawl space, and SmartThings once you have the hub is the most reliable and cost effective.

While initially everything worked excellent and I can see everything in HomeKit there is a problem. The water leak sensor, window sensor, and temperature sensors in each do not update in HomeKit. Only on HomeBridge refresh. Just tested the water sensor and it immediately pings in the Samsung Smartthings application. But on my HomeKit it shows no change.

In a search I saw a mix of responses, some of which basically gave up on this front. Is there anything I can do within the HomeBridge/SmartThings integration that will allow this data to properly feed to HomeKit?

My Multi sensors don't update either, when the door opens it says open , but when it's closed it still says open !

I tried looking around for this, can't find much support. I am keeping Smartthings and HomeKit integration because it can act as a conduit for some things that don't work with HomeKit. For example, instead of using the WeMo hub I can just link WeMo devices into Smartthings and it connects to HomeKit and works great.

Also, the Smartthings buttons are really great and even though I control switches and hue lights from HomeKit (and can't get the button to work with HomeKit) I can set the switch to control lights and switches through Smartthings. I have it set so when I put my kids to bed it turns on their sound machine and dims the lamp. Then in the morning I long press and it turns the sound machine off and brightens the light.

Lastly if you are looking for sensors... I just setup the Ring security system which is on sale right now. The Homebridge plugin for Ring is awesome and maps everything into HomeKit. Its also immediate, so when I walk into a room the motion sensor shows triggered in HomeKit, or when a door opens its immediate. They also have leak and temp sensors that are cheap like SmartThings and immediate. Another thing I like about ring is for $10/month it includes unlimited camera saving which is insane. The app is also cool, and works with everything.

My thoughts for what its worth.
