Did you right-click on MegaBasterd.run and select open there? That should allow you to open it. You might also have to do it for the java executable in the jre/bin folder.
This is a macOS "feature".
From Apple: Running software that hasn’t been signed and notarized may expose your computer and personal information to malware that can harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. If you’re certain that an app you want to install is from a trustworthy source and hasn’t been tampered with, you can temporarily override your Mac security settings to open it.
If you still want to open an app for which the developer cannot be verified, open System Preferences.* Go to Security & Privacy. Click the Open Anyway button in the General pane to confirm your intent to open or install the app. The warning prompt reappears, and if you're absolutely sure you want to open the app anyway, you can click Open. The app is now saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it, just as you can any authorized app.
"Open Anyway" doesn't work for MegaBasterd. It does absolutely nothing.
Any idea why?
I can confirm that the "Open Anyway" button doesn't seem to work. I click it in the "Security & Privacy" window and nothing happens.
If I go back and run MegaBasterd.run in Terminal it still gives the same error message as shown above, and if I right click it in Finder and open there, it doesn't know what to do and asks me what app I want to open it with.
In order to get it running I had to install Java, and then go to the jar directory and double click the MegaBasterd.jar file.
I'm running Monterey 12.6.

I tried to do the same. Megabasterd blocked on the main panel and nothing append... Currently in Monterey 12.3
@Rosaye Are you able to install it on your system?
It is installing on MAC VENTURA 13.3.1 all you should do is open with android studio or vs code run the "./jre/bin/java -jar ./jar/MegaBasterd.jar" file and go to system settings and click on open anyway it should run the file
If anyone needs help, this is what worked for me typing this into command prompt with security settings open: "/Users/YOURDIRECTORY/Downloads/MegaBasterdMACOS\ 2/jre/bin/java -jar /Users/YOURDIRECTORY/Downloads/MegaBasterdMACOS\ 2/jar/MegaBasterd.jar"
It says that there is no application to open .bat file
It says that there is no application to open .bat file
you have to run the .run file as the above screen shot mentioned
I tried running the .run file, but it didn't work for me. Hence I opened the terminal and ran the command "java -jar ./jar/MegaBasterd.jar" once I was within the downloaded folder.
This approach worked for me.
