Qt Designer not opening when opening .ui files #51

Hey I am using qt-tools but when i try to open ui files. It doesn't open qt designer. My OS is Kali Linux

Did you configured cmake before via cmake configure command?

When I run this command it gives me this error 

CMake Error: The source directory "/home/animeshdhakal/Desktop/animeshqt/build/configure" does not exist.

Do you use Qt6? If yes, please send me a copy of your CMakeCache.txt from your build directory. Right now the extension does not support Qt6.

Thanks for the cache file. I've added support for Qt6 in my PR #53 .

Could you try to use the dev version of 0.9 and see if it will work for you. Just download the vsix file with the link and install it via the VSCode command Extensions: Install from VSIX... You should now see the 0.9.0 version of this extension. It should detect the Qt6 directory now, but I'm not sure if every Qt6 binary is called the same as in Qt5.

This sounds not like a error from my extension AFAIK.

Where do you see the error message? Does it work (configure cmake) when you remove the extension?

Maybe remove the cmake build directory and configure it again.

Also try if you can run e.g the designer executable his the terminal too check if it is valid.

It could be that I need do to more then adapting the cmake variable for Qt 6.

How did you installed Qt6 on your machine?

I'm also using Qt6, installed via the Qt On-Line installer (Qt Maintenance tool), and I too get the "Qt not found" error message in the status bar. My project is CMake based, and contains a find_package statement:

I tried the 0.9 dev version you linked above, but no difference.

I can confirm that it has found the correct path for my CMakeCache.txt, but it doesn't appear to process it successfully?

Can you send me the content of C:/Qt/6.1.1/msvc2019_64/bin please. I just need the name for qmake and some dlls of Qt.

The extension found qmake in /home/animeshdhakal/Qt/6.2.0/gcc_64/bin. So can you paste the content of this folder here as well. Just use ls -la /home/animeshdhakal/Qt/6.2.0/gcc_64/bin in the terminal.

Interesting. From your log we know that the extension pass https://github.com/tonka3000/vscode-qt-tools/blob/2b68c0bf4b1fba5e86cd5336ff2e5d3123b0b644/src/extension.ts#L159 , so the problem must be https://github.com/tonka3000/vscode-qt-tools/blob/2b68c0bf4b1fba5e86cd5336ff2e5d3123b0b644/src/status.ts#L16 , but we know that this is not "".

Do you know how you can compile the extension yourself? Just git clone the repo, call npm i and press F5 to run. Set a breakpoint on https://github.com/tonka3000/vscode-qt-tools/blob/2b68c0bf4b1fba5e86cd5336ff2e5d3123b0b644/src/status.ts#L16 and press the Qt not found button. Would be interesting to know what happens there because I can not reproduce the problem.
