What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. clean install
2. fill in all the blanks that are required in the external tools dialog 
box
3. press the test button. all is ok
4. the user now have a confident feeling that opening projects will work
5. open a project, click build click run
6. you will see g++ is not recognized as an internal or external command, 
operable program or batch file.
7. confident feeling is now null.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

it should run

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

4.2.2

Please provide any additional information below.

using 4.1.1 mingw

I think that you use MinGW which is not properly installed.
