disagree :( braille characters are for braille, and as you can read on wikipedia empty dots are to place the full dots somewhere, otherwise there would be no possibility to distinguish ⠶ and ⠛
plus, I don't see empty dots?
LaTeX braille and many others use tiny dots instead of outlined dots (which in the example above was difficult to distinguish in the purple and pink character colours)

Although I've personally only ever seen braille in fonts where the unpunched dots are missing entirely or use tiny dots (filled or outlined) like the LaTeX package. Besides Fira Code and the Unicode Consortium
Braille is used by blind people and this font is used by people who want their code to be beautiful and pleasing to the eyes. I don't think that people needing braille are using this font.
Perhaps OP is helped by switching from terminal emulator. For example st has the boxdraw patch. Maybe other terminal emulators have similar settings. This is how gtop / gotop looks on st with the boxdraw patch. The font is still FiraCode
I solved this problem by adding Cascadia Code to fall back fonts lol
Does this have any updates?

Hi!
First of all, thank you for this amazing font, I can't use other fonts anymore ;)
I was wondering if you could modify the rendering of braille characters so that only the highlighted dots are shown. As of now, this is how Fira Code renders them:
Can the empty dots be hidden so that only the line is shown and not the rest of the character rectangle?
Thank you very much for your work!
