If I tell it to install anyway, I get a pop up warning me that it could cause my computer to crash. If I tell it to continue anyway, the pop up disappears, and Fira Code does not get added to my list of installed fonts.

I'm on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6.

What version of the font? Which file are you trying to click? What macOS version are you on?

maco commented 4 years ago
  1. The version linked here, with "download TTF folder": https://github.com/tonsky/FiraCode/wiki/Installing
  2. All of them. This happens for all 5 of the TTF files.
  3. As I said, Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6.

Can you get a more detailed error description? All I am able to get is this:

Nope. It doesn't give me a toggle like it does for you.

I'm also on Mojave (a fresh install) and when I try to install the fonts - it just won't work. I don't even get any errors. It just never gets added to my list of fonts. I'm happy to try and provide more details if someone can point me in the right direction.

I was able to get the OTF fonts to install, but the TTF fonts won't work.

Hm I tried the -Medium OTF file with the same result as the TTF.

Unable to confirm on 10.14.6, all files installed fine for me. I did have an earlier version of Fira Code already installed.

Have you checked the console (Console.app) for any output from Font Book when you are installing?

Ifrit-Fire commented 4 years ago

I'm getting the same exact error. I had to manually select File -> Validate File within Font Books in order to get that error dialog @maco posted. Otherwise attempting to import just flashes a dialog prompt and nothing else. I couldn't find anything in Console. Is there a specific log file I should comb thru?

I'm on Catalina 10.15.3. This is a brand new MacBook Air 2019 with very little installed. I acquired the latest TFF files found in master on this date 7 March 2020. Looks like it came from commit 13234c0

Hello all,

Same error with fonts downloaded today via link in README (v5.2) here for a Mac running v10.13.6. I have installed the fonts successfully on a different Mac running v10.14.6, that was on the 6th of March 2020 and was possibly v2 though I could be wrong.

Hope that's some help finding the cause.

Regards, iain
