  1. How do you think Phenolyzer will be used in Basic mode? As it stands, it starts as a drop down, but clicking on it doesn't actually drop down a menu. If I type in a term, e.g. breast cancer, we immediately jump to the most likely gene (BRCA2), but there is no information about what Phenolyzer did. I'm assuming the drop down menu of genes in the main window was updated to include the top 10 genes from Phenolyzer, but it isn't clear what happened.
  2. In the legend, hovering over the exon looks like I should be able to click it for some reason.

From Jessica - Can you make it show a "loading..." text/prompt below the "welcome" text? My internet was slow at home last night so I noticed that when I visited the webpage, only the "Welcome + intro" text showed and then it took another 1-2 min or so to actually load the gene diagram, RefSeq description, variant table, etc. If I didn't know to expect those to load, I would have thought there was nothing there.

From Jessica - By the way, I'm thinking it may be helpful to somehow flag the gene list dropdown so that users know to look there for gene results after the Phenolyzer run completes. Otherwise it's not at all clear that I should click on the dropdown to see more genes

From Mike -

  1. Change the first sentence in the description to: Gene.iobio is a tool that enables you to look through your raw sequence data (that is, the variant call file or VCF) in several different ways.
  2. In Safari, highlighting variants in the cartoon drawing of the gene in each family member highlighted the corresponding variant in the table. However, this didn’t work in Firefox (v.49.0).
  3. Column 1 of the Table of variants is highlihted in red. Is this because there are conflicting intepretations of pathogenicity? I don’t see that we explain what different colored columns mean.
