1. What was your first impression? (from starting the game to playing it)
My first impression was “I hope this is not a horror/scary game”. But as I was walking forward, I realized it was more of a narrative game. I was really awed at the aesthetic and the use of the fog and texture. The ambience/mood and environment felt unsettling at first too.
2. Did you find the game boring? If so, why? If not, what makes it not boring?
I did not find the game boring, the narrative really pushed the game forward and the overall gameworld was immersive. It did get repetitive at some point but I was also curious as to what was coming next (the texts).
3. Do you like this purely narrative-driven approach or do you think I should add some puzzle-solving or parkour or something else?
I do think adding more game mechanics that users can interact with would enhance your current gameplay.
4. Were you satisfied with the ending? Did you wish the game was longer?
I thought the ending was okay for the narrative you were going for. I don’t think extending the gameplay would be necessary as it does feel a bit long already. I think just adding more interactive elements would fulfill this aspect too.
5. Does the soundscape or the soundtrack fit in the game?
100% yes, it sets the mood right.
6. Can you describe your mood or feeling when you were playing the game?
What did it make you feel?I had mixed feelings between feeling hopeless but not wanting to give up just yet.
7. What would you propose to add to the game to make it more engaging or refined?
I mentioned it quite frequently but perhaps more interaction between the player and the environment. I really like how it would loop us back to the track over and over no matter where you are going, but I noticed a slight “glitch” when it would loop (it wasn’t as seamless). The player is allowed to jump but there’s nothing to jump over, so I think if you can implement and make use of the jumping that would be great. Overall I really liked the moody narrative you went for :>
