Now I'm forking, how fun!

Yes, guilty... =) You're the developer of the KML feed - correct?

As mentioned in the description, I think this concept could be interesting for other wildlife - not just rock star penguins. I'm watching what's happening with KML over at Movebank. Using tracking data to create Tamagotchi style apps could be fun/help raise awareness, if enough providers decide to release data feeds.

Hi Tony,

yep, I built nzemperor.com. It ran on Google App Engine (Java) and Open Layers on the client, with the Java API for Kml (JAK). I see you use a sax parser, have you heard of Joox? apps like MyTracks also use a custom parser, I bet jaxb is a bit fat for Android (the startup time is awful with all those annotations).

Yeah, Movebank is cool, they use GWT (am not a fan anymore). For feeds Geo RSS could be a solution for people who want to make their data available. Have you looked at the Open Layers Timeline project? https://github.com/ZiglioNZ

PS How did you end up in Granada? I LOVE SPAIN (especially the sexy andalucian accent) but destiny brought me to NZ. I love Tarifa :-) Cordoba, never been to Granada, tierra soñada por mi
