exe needs Java 8 to launch but minecraft now needs java 16 to run #1048

I just downloaded the amidst 4.7 exe and uppon first launch it just came up with a stacktrace trying to load up a minecraft 1.17.1 profile with the classic server compile error. so I installed java 16 and tried again. It gave me the same error, so I uninstalled java 8 completeles, but now the exe wouldn't launch saying it needed java 8 to run. Running via the amidst 4.7 jar works perfectly fine, just the exe seems to have trouble with running under java 16.

I'll close this because this seems to be a local installation issue on my end.
