can't start 1.17.1 with two installations of java #1056

the used operating system and version: Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042 the used Java version: 16.0.1 and 1.8.0_301 (cmd says 16.0.1) the used Minecraft version: 1.17.1 the used Amidst version: v4-7

yes, i have two installs of java on, to play all mc versions

I just... open amidst, select latest version (at the time of writing it's 1.17.1) and uuh... i get this message image

here's proof that my main java version is the correct one image

if there's anything else that's needed, let me know

I have the same error Its really annoying

Also had this problem, and found this Reddit thread. The proposed solution was to update the JDK (to 16.02) then run from the Amidst 4.7 .jar rather than .exe. This solved the issue for me.
