Title says it all. This isn't a lot of work but I don't use those images regularly so I would prefer someone that uses them take over maintenance.

I've just started trying out ubuntu toolboxes (on pop_OS), once I've gotten my own usage squared I'd probably be happy to maintain these.

Hi, I’d like to help. I’m a DD (andrewsh@debian.org) and also part of the Apertis team at Collabora (which we probably eventually want to add as well). (Update: I was unaware, but apparently we already generate official toolbox images for Apertis)

@andrewshadura Great! Feel free to send PRs and I'll add you to the maintainers of this project after the first merged one.

Also feel free to add links to the README that point to other toolbox images hosted somewhere.

Wasn't @Jmennius (co?) maintaining the Ubuntu images?

@andrewshadura it's great to see interest from folks with a @debian.org email for the Debian images. :)

Jmennius commented 1 year ago

@andrewshadura We're merging Ubuntu images upstream into containers/toolbox repo - containers/toolbox#483 and the question of more formal/qualified maintainer is open. I don't have a monopoly and will be happy to hand it over 😉 Please join the discussion!

@Jmennius instead of handing over Ubuntu images, you could also get yourself a @ubuntu.com identity, and co-maintain them with @andrewshadura It never hurts to have a second pair of eyes. :)

@andrewshadura if you want to sign up to co-maintain the Ubuntu images, then feel free to send a pull request to github.com/containers/toolbox like this one.

I'll close this one given that we are now migrating Ubuntu images to the official toolbx repos.
