I may have missed it but I'd vote for a mention of coffeescript:

Grunt/Gulp support CS
For documentation, docco is great and I believe it works with JS as well as CS
And Cake is surprisingly effective, even as tiny as it is. I like systems I can read overnight.

:-1: Closing. Sorry! We already plan on capturing a large number of tools in this book. Focusing on anything outside of just JS will only confuse beginners.

..although it might be useful to consider documentation as a task. I'm not sure what others use for documentation, but docco and javadocs are pretty reasonable tasks. So if there is a list of "standard" tasks, I'd urge documentation to be amongst them. And thanks for the VERY cool idea the book encompasses.
