Thanks for this suggestions. Do have something like ableton’s help window in mind?
Probably, When I wrote this I was thinking about the way it is done in FL Studio; so I am sure that it is similar.
It is like this.
Do you notice the already existing tooltips? The settings window provides an option to adjust their delay time. I'm not saying that this is the solution, I'm just curious.
It was not immediately notable, but I see them now - would still really prefer for definitions to show up in a dedicated little spot. However, knowing they are there is helpful.
I thought about this suggestion and discussed it with some other designers. I believe a good and feasible approach would be a mixture: If we have window docking we can add a help window that can be docked conveniently positioned in the window layout and will show all tool tips without delay. This should be extended by improving the tool tips with additional information like operator descriptions.
I would like to posit including an Explorer Feature. This would be beneficial for newcomers to T3, and node-based visual programming in general.
When hovering different components, and various nodes having a very simple; to the point definition appear in a dedicated location could improve program navigation.
It is entirely reasonable to improve and expand what explorer feature definitions are available over time. It can start with absolutely basic tools and navigation. The more complex tools and concepts can be added over time.
I would suggest a mouse-over tool tip that displays on a sidebar so that it doesn’t interfere with workflow.
