sorry for the problems,
A reinstall will not help.
Just a few questions for more details:
You mentioned the "2. PC backup file would show up in Ipod mail only once after
many
tries."
What email carrier are you using? you are emailing yourself usually and will
have to
wait on your email carrier to send the email to you, when you tried multiple
times
did you end up with multiple emails eventually?
In the email on your iPod, does it have a button at the bottom asking you if
you want
to download the rest of the email? (if it does press that and then click on the
link).
forward me the email backup (I dont think I can do anything to fix it, but I
can see
what the deal is with the corruption)
Comcast is notorious for corrupting email data, especially for the way mytime is
storing your backup data in a link.
after answering the above questions take a look at the instructions at
http://code.google.com/p/mytime/wiki/iTunesBackup and see if you can retrieve a
backup from

I am using Comcast mail and having all messages sent to Microsoft Outlook
rather
than using Comcast mail. I did not end up with multiple My Time backup data
files.
Any other messages could be sent to my Comcast address and end up on my Ipod
but not
the My Time backup. The one that did show up on my Ipod mail was the one that
produced the "My Time opened with an invalid URL" message and the there was no
button to download the rest of the email. I have tried 3 new Ipods because the
first
two would freeze up with a black screen and I would have to do a hard reset to
get
it to turn on and the third one is doing the same thing. Is this part of the
problem
or unrelated? I did not have the backup problem when I went from Ipod number 1
to 2
only the third one. I did a print backup and rekeyed all my call data onto Ipod
#3.
I will try to foward from my Ipod the My Time Application Data Backup that
creates
the Invalid URL mesage. Thanks,
Ray Hegel

to summarise what has been going on in the email thread, This is an issue when
you
FORWARD an email to your iphone account. Most email clients corrupt the email
backup
when you forward emails from them.
You MUST open the original email that you sent/received from your iphone's email
program. I will be adding this to the FAQ section, I get this question alot.
also we discovered that the iPod was having problems with the case he was
using, it
had magnets in it, and every time he put the ipod in the case it turned off. He
has
since then taken the magnets out of the case or stopped using them and has not
seen
the problem sense then
