Mac#8888 here. I'm a Top.gg moderator and a proofreader for French.
Our translation guidelines encourage us to use informal translations which is why it's translated in this way. What's more, using "le top des..." allows us to stay closer to the original meaning of the English version.
Top.gg is a list of "Top Bots" and "Top Servers", so being able to use the word "top" in French also allows us to stay truthful to that.
You may also notice we prefer "tu" over "vous" throughout the site, this is also a part of that effort to stay informal and is included in our translation guidelines.

"Top bots" is currently translated to "Le Top des Bots" which, itself, isn't wrong, but it's not proper french. Here are 2 versions that would be more adapted:
