Setting the line below in my .vimrc slows down opening PeepOpen by a lot (~1 seconds), to the point of annoyance.
set shell=zsh\ -i
I set the shell so that MacVim loads my zsh paths (e.g. the right version of rails). It's not strictly necessary for me, so I simply reverted my .vimrc.
