Why can't I add an IP range? #424

Why can I not ADD an IP address like I could in the predecessor, Peer Guardian?
And Why have you not put back in the tools?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Put back the ability to add an IP (range) address.
2. Put the tools back in it,
3. Do not remove either one in future versions!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A much better and liked utility in the security of your computer!

What version of PeerBlock are you using? On what operating system? 32- or
64-bit?

In the "About" section, it just claims it's version 1.1....
Please provide any additional information below. Make sure to attach
peerblock.log and/or any screenshots that would help explain your problem.

Not sure what you feel is missing...

Adding to lists works the same way as it did in the old PeerGuardian program;
as far as I recall, we haven't changed anything related to that. Right-click
on an IP and select Block/Allow Temporarily/Permanently; open the List Manager
and "View" a list to edit it (though updates to that list will overwrite your
change, if it's not a local list). Create List through the List Manager too.
What are you unable to do?

What are the "tools" you're looking for? I vaguely recall something that would
uninstall/reinstall PG2 or something to work around some bugs in the program,
but that's about it. We fixed those bugs, so something like that would do
nothing useful here. Could you be more specific about what you're looking for?

I understand that you're frustrated, but I'm really not sure what it is that
you're looking for, sorry.

Well, thank you for answering my question, (*in a round about way,) so quickly,
I am thankful for the fast response.

I deduced from the reply at bottom, two things important to this new version of
Peer Guardian, (Peer Blocker) one, I have been around far too long, when I can
remember things being in a program, the programmers can't remember, and two, *I
forgot I could make a file locally!

So I built a file locally, (.\lists\PermBlock.p2b) and now I can add those
tenacious bastards who throw up advertisements, spam, cheat, or generally piss
me off while I'm in my favorite online games, such as; Diablo2, Killing Floor,
UT2004, etc, etc.. I feel much better now, as I can enjoy the two hours I have
once a week, to play online without having the every day Jerk who all ways
drops into my game and kills everyone who's trying to enjoy a little carnage of
there own. I do have to have a third party program now, just to find there IP
address. Now that my "Peer Guardian" does not have the tools in it, as it is no
longer Peer Guardian, but "Blocker" instead. (I never considered these kinds
of people to be a member of my "Peer's" in the first place!) but to answer your
reply, "Directly" and not to force you to "Deduce" an answer on your own, In
the first few versions (0.95 or 0.99 and 1.0) of Peer Guardian, it came with a
"Tools" section that
included Whois, and a nifty IP finder that worked so much better, than having to know who is the game maker, and calling them up, to find out the codes that will allow them to see everyone's IP address in the game there playing in, just so I can block there IP address. (Which effectively prevents them from entering any room I am in!) Now, people like "Bill Gates" have forgotten the names of those they climbed upon to get to the top, and they do not reply to there calls any more, so getting the codes to the games Microsoft makes is next to impossible. (Microsoft does not make great games any more, just games that appeal to grade school kids.)

Okay, a winded response I admit, to shorten it a bit, "Thank you!"

Did I tell you, Thank you? My oversight was that I can not edit the online
"List" and I did not see that I could "Add" a list of my own!

Thank you for your fast reply, and happy holidays to come, you, one, and all!

Mr. Collins
