Edit:
I see this was closed for whatever reason.
Anyway, I have somehow managed to get a working device again for those that may stumble across this with similar issues.
I use the stable Xiaomi EU rom and OrangeFox recovery:
I booted to fastboot - power + volume down Then immediately booted to recovery - power + volume up That allowed me to use my password to access recovery Format data Flashed the original EU rom Restored my most recent data backup Flashed Magisk 21.2 (back to cts error)
Quite a hassle and seemed pretty random.
I have no clue what caused this, and thankfully I had a data back from the start of the year, so I didn't lose more than a few pics and have to set up some apps again etc.
I do appreciate Magisk, but word of warning for this update if you are using a Xiaomi device. And be sure to make regular backups!
Hello,
I had a notification to update Magisk to 21.4, that seemed to go okay. Rebooted and couldn't connect to Wi-Fi, I didn't think much of it so rebooted again and was asked for a password... not my usual screen. My passwords did not work. Tried to boot to recovery (Orangefox) and it was saying it could not decrypt storage. My Orangefox password did not work either.
I have tried to connect via ADB/Fastboot, but it does not even recognise the phone when attached via USB, so I seemingly cannot do anything.
I understand this is not a "bug report" per se, but I see other people reporting issues with this update, and it is kind of a big problem.
Any help with this?
Thanks.
