Unable to use pipe or backslash characters in a phrase #158

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a phrase containing backslash or pipe. For example "This is a pipe |."
2. Assign a hotkey.
3. Use the hotkey in any program.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The resulting phrase will be "This is a pipe .", i.e. the pipe character is
missing. Same happens with the backslash.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AutoKey (GTK UI) 0.71.2 on Ubuntu 11.10

ahh that's better, didn't realize i wasn't running the latest version. thanks
for an insanely quick reply.

the nice icon for the application launcher is gone though, now it's just an
ugly question mark.

This is in the unity launcher? I find sometimes it gets a bit unhappy if icon
names change, which happened for this upgrade. Try removing and re-adding it to
the launcher, or if that doesn't help, reboot. I find rebooting fixes a lot of
unity foibles.

it wasn't actually in the launcher, just the main menu. found the icon path and
updated the shortcut. works fine now.
