I'm sorry but there are a few languages (Russian is one example) that don't
seem to be supported natively by X. Since AutoKey works at the X layer there is
nothing I can do about this.

I am running ubuntu 12.04, precise, and unity-3d desktop. I installed
autokey-gtk. I tried using google translate to convert English to Hebrew and
Chinese. Then, I cut and pasted the translated sentences to newly defined
phrases. These sentences in Autokey dialogue box show fine. However, when I try
using Autokey to input these into another application (gedit, firebox, office
write, etc), Simplified Chinese doesn't show up at all, and Hebrew shows up as
Arabic. I have all of these language support installed at the system level
(except Arabic). Do you have any suggestion to get this working? Thanks very
much!
