Incoming call to Twilio number #32

Closed ghost closed 9 years ago

ghost commented 9 years ago

The Twilio logs indicate that an attempt was made to call our Twilio number (413) 623-3235. The call was made from +66899224104, which the TS system user search shows to be from Ekanat Yu Limkunatham. Since we did not set up a voicemail for the Twilio number, the caller heard the following default message:

Thanks for the call. Configure your number's voice U R L to change this message.
Let us know if we can help you in any way during your development.

What about setting up call forwarding from Twilio to TS office?

ghost commented 9 years ago

Oh, and the call came in at 3 pm yesterday, Dec 20.

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. Sure we can setup forwarding to +6621067100. Is that easy enough to do?

It appears to be easy. I just set it up. Feel free to test. I will try to test later today.

joshuarusso commented 9 years ago

Tried it. Rang a few times then hung up. Didn't connect to the office line. Had some credit card issues - dunno if related. Trying to sort through that.

I edited the forwarding links. Can you try once more?

joshuarusso commented 9 years ago

Just doesn't connect now. Immediately ends call.

okay, looks like an international number issue. I will have to write some custom API to make it work, which will have to happen later. I am trying to get the reservation system up and running first.

joshuarusso commented 9 years ago

ok bummer that it requires more work. let me know if there’s anything we can help with.

It turns out that in addition to out own custom code, we also need to get Twilio's approval for dialing to Thailand. A request has been submitted

ghost commented 9 years ago

Now that Twilio has enabled calling to Thailand, incoming calls to the US Twilio number can be forwarded to the TS BKK office number. There are two charges associated with this service -- incoming and outgoing. For a Thai number calling the US Twilio number, my understanding is that Twilio will charge for both Thailand->US incoming and US->Thailand outgoing. That's $0.066 per minute.

joshuarusso commented 9 years ago

Ok - good to know. We will work on enabling a SIP provider for a US number going forward to hook into the PBX. But that should be fine to have it route to 02-106-7100 for now.
