Suspended Products Still Appear in Store #37

Closed hybridcinema closed 12 years ago

Currently we have suspended several products within topspin, hoping that this would remove the items from our online store. This has not worked, however, as the suspended products are still displaying online. I wrote the folks at Topspin who responded:

"The Wordpress store is populated via the Offers API button on the offers themselves. If you go into the offer(s) you want to remove scroll down to the Settings section. Under the Settings, you will see Distribution Options. Uncheck the Offers API button, and it will no longer be available via the Wordpress plug-in. You may want to clear the browser cache as well, to make sure the update pulls through."

As recommended I unchecked the Offers API button and I also cleared both the browser and wordpress cache to no avail. The products are still displaying. I even tried unchecking Test Override.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

1°)A good way to make the settings you've made inside of your topspin account reflected in your wordpress store is to use the "ITEMS" tab of the topspin plugin to only "call" (from wordpress) the offers you are still using in topspin and tell the plugin which other items have been deleted since your last visit in your wordpress installation. After that, go to "VIEW STORES". You should notice that the old items don't appear anymore.

2°)If it doesn't work for you, what about using the "fix plugin installation" function by clicking "TOPSPIN", then "SETTINGS" where you can find this button at the bottom of the page ?

PS: I apologize for my bad English

Hybridcinema,

Has this issue been resolved? Sounds like a cache issue (the cache can take up to 10-15 min to clear depending on when you removed items in Topspin and when the plugin refreshes it's cache). As Francois mentioned above, you can also use the "Fix Plugin Installation" or "Rebuild Database" buttons on the Settings page to clear things out.

No, the issue has not been resolved. I don't think it's a cache issue because I have tried "Fix Plugin Installation" and "Rebuild database" multiple times. There is one last product that I can't get off of our store. It's really frustrating especially since topspin doesn't seem to care. I appreciate the suggestions, folks! Oh and Francois, your English is great!

Francois, In the topspin plug-in I only have a "view items" tab. And it won't let me edit anything. It just displays the items. The other tabs I have in the plug-in are: settings, view most popular, view items, view orders, add store, and nav menu.

Topspin cares, but they don't support the plugin since it's open source and developed by the community. I'm not really sure why this would be happening - we haven't had this trouble in any of our other stores - but we'll look into it for a future version of the plugin.

You may want to try switching your store to manual sorting for the time being. That'll allow you to click show/hide on any products you want, effectively doing what you want to do, just bit more manual of a process.

Thanks! How do switch the store to manual? I don't see it in settings. I appreciate the help. I didn't set up the store initially so my apologies if that was a dumb question. Cheers!

Nevermind. I found the manual button! That's so much better. Thanks a million.
