New version of the plugin does not show images on both websites, completely breaks one of them AND incompatible with Jetpack's stats #93

Hello,

Just updated the plugin to the latest version on both sites I'm maintaining for somebody else and A LOT of problems occurred.

On http://johnfrusciante.com, images are not showing in the stores (which are otherwise functioning) and this is the error I get in the backend:

error

Example of images not showing: http://johnfrusciante.com/store/letur-lefr/

On http://recordcollectionmusic.com, ALL my custom queries are screwed up - the custom post types and the slides don't display at all:

http://recordcollectionmusic.com/

http://recordcollectionmusic.com/label/

http://recordcollectionmusic.com/production/

http://recordcollectionmusic.com/artists/

As you will probably notice, only titles of custom post types are showing; nothing else.

In addition to this, Jetpack stats are not working on either of the sites after Topspin plugin upgrade.

The themes I created for both sites are valid according to the Theme Unit Test; javascript and CSS are fetched the right way and whatnot. So; it's not me.

I would appreciate a heads-up on this as soon as possible; as the label obviously needs their websites to function and I'm helpless in this particular case. Thank you.

Iva,

Unfortunately, the v4 version of the plugin is not compatible with the v3 version. In order to use the v4 version, you need to build from the ground up.

Please download the latest v3 files from GitHub to revert back to how your sites were set up previously.

I have uploaded this version of the plugin: https://github.com/topspin/topspin-wordpress/tree/463804417bb6307aeda906c162766d6874ba7ca2

But the errors still remain on the second site.

Hi Ivan. You can find an old version of the plugin by viewing 'tags' on github. Please revert to the last stable version you had working to get your store running properly again.

I suggest first upgrading, testing, and troubleshooting on a non-production server any upgrade to the plugin or Wordpress installation. Depending on how old the version you are upgrading from is, you might be better off starting completely fresh with a new intstallation the new 4.1 plugin. What are you upgrading from?

Also, can you - please - tell me how does one access old versions here on Github? As a theme designer, I'm not that familiar with this. Thank you.

Thank you. I have figured it out. Now I know something new! :)

I have also figured out the issue on the second site in the meantime, in case it helps you prevent others from unwanted surprises: the plugin de-attached featured images from custom post types unrelated to it (as in, custom post types I created myself).

The version I was using was the one I just reverted to, the latest stable 3.x.
