In the Master Illusionist's Room
The tallest building in the city the tower has a commanding view of
Ashstone. The entire tower is made of one continuous piece of white
marble, almost certainly a product of pure magic. The patterns in the
marble floor draws in the eye of the viewer. Finely polished to a mirror
finish the marble floor gleams in the light. The light in the tower seems
to be coming from everywhere but nowhere in particular. Occasionally a
mote of magic springs into being, lingers in the air for a moment then
disappears. The shadows thrown by the light seem to dance and move about
on their own.

Something's not right here.
The timestamp between those is .25 of a second. It's impossible to react to it or get a bash off. All other spells of that kind of power take time to cast and I have a chance to get a bash off on the mob. This one, it's just suicide as a fighter type to fight mobs that cast this.
