Enhance: Auction in Scardale #93

Scardale doesn't have an auction, and really needs one. Those are the players who are going to most want to be able to purchase equipment.

Something that came up the other day I might also suggest - If you do processed with adding an auction to Scardale, it'd be nice if no cost was charged there for item identification.

While I am not inherently opposed to the idea of making auction free for newbs, there are 2 issues with that:

  1. It would require custom code, which starts to increase the effort required to resolve this ticket
  2. It could be exploited so that nobody need pay for ID, they just log a level 1 alt in to check auction

Anyone high enough level that they can't enter Scardale / would need to log on a low level char to gain access to it would also in all likelihood be aware that items can be identified through use of Katumi, or the mudlet script. For that matter, at higher levels paying for id isn't expensive enough anyways that going through any steps that take more then 5 seconds just to avoid paying really isn't worth it.

While it shouldn't be a complex coding task (just a single if statement) yes, the requirement for custom coding does make it more difficult.

just saying, if we are gonna open up auction in scardale, something should be done about the amount of money drop'd there. aside from 2 mobs, you rarely see a single platinum coin, and on top of that, you have your skill practice and scribing to spend your money on. there's a lyre in a shop in scardale that sells for like 600 platinum or something stupid like that, no one, will ever have that much money as n00b w/o xping themselves out of scardale. I'd propose that if indeed we decide to put an auction in scardale, that you change the current skill setting, from 1-10 needing 0 cash to scribe/practice, to 1-20, at the very least.
