Documentation review (single commit) #184

Hi!

This PR supersedes the previous one I made in December (and updated since then).

However, the recent updates (moving a lot of files) made it pretty messy, so I though squashing it into a single commit that can be reviewed more easily is the better approach.

This commit has a lot of restructuring as well as rephrasing. Even though it might be not perfect yet, I'd appreciate a quick merge to avoid diverging again (I think it is a huge leap forward in it's current state).
