We're missing a few core engineering considerations 🤔
We talk about building security into our applications from the ground up.
We're also pretty good with putting new uses of personal data through our data protection processes first.
And there's been a good focus on accessibility in a lot of the front-end work we do.
None of these things currently feature in our Engineering Principles.
They are things we care about, and things we do, and they seem obvious .. maybe ..
.. but if you're new at TM, how wouldn't necessarily know that these are things we care about.
I have trouble framing this as a high-level, governing principle.
Opinions? Halp? 😬
We treat our customers data very seriously, we follow GDPR principles closely
Security is very important to us, we consider it with every feature and change
To support our customers we have to meet regulatory and contractual obligations. Sometimes that means delivering by a deadline, where normally we practice #no-estimates
