Hi. The burning done by makedvd uses the growisofs command. Since it got to that point using tovid, I believe the problem is an issue using growisofs not tovid, so the report should go to that list or should be asked in a forum for your linux distribution.

I issued the command tovid dvd -birn my-dvd to burn my data to a DVD and it got to 99.88% complete and gava an error below. The error message says to file this as a bug report and here it is.

I have been using these blank DVDs just fine for ages so I don't think its a problem with the disk. Maybe the software needs to do retries in the event of an IO error like this.
