PythonXY 2.7.2.3 setup does not work correctly - Python 2.7 is not installed on your computer

1. What version of Python(x,y) have you installed?

2. Which components have you installed (Python(x,y) installer: component
page):
    a. Have you selected the "Recommended" component selection?
    b. Have you selected the "Full" component selection?
c. Have you selected manually plugins in the component list? What
plugins?

I selected "Full"

3. Have you selected the option "Customize installation directories"?
b. No
4. If the answer to 3. is yes, what installation directories have you
chosen?
5. Where did you install Python(x,y) itself?
a. default path
6. Have you installed Python(x,y):
    b. For "All users"
7. What is your operating system?
c. Windows 7
8. Is the operating system 64 bit?
a. Yes
9. When you installed Python(x,y), were you logged in as :
b. an administrator of the machine
10. If you are using Windows Vista/7, have you installed Python(x,y):
    b. by right-clicking on the installer and selecting "Run as an
administrator"
11. Regarding installed softwares on your machine, how did you clean your
machine before installing Python(x,y) (multiple answers are possible):
    a. you didn't do anything, you installed Python(x,y) directly on your machine without precaution

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Just start the installer.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect would the complete installation of PythonXY and all of its components. 
But right after start of the actual installation, the error message pops up.

My assumption was, that python 2.7 would be installed automatically along with 
PythonXY.

Hi,

maybe my PC was not up-to-date (it was fresh, since it was my 2ns day at work). 
But there was no Python installed. There where some windows updates & stuff.

Today I tried again today - and no problem at all ... :-). Do not ask me why.

Same thing is happening to me- Did a full install and am getting the error for 
each package.. Well see what happens- Im wondering if it is waiting to install 
Python at the end for some reason?

I get the same installation errors with Windows 8, 64 bit.
It is a clean install of win8 on new hard drive.
New install of Pythonxy, default options.
The installer, with each package tells me Python is not installed and I have to 
click OK to continue.
I am giving up on pythonxy and will install each package I need one by one.

My issue appears just to be with 64 bit windows and the 32 bit Python that 
comes with x,y. I thought I could install 32 bit Python but the installer does 
not install Python due to incompatibility presumably. Then afterwards it keeps 
trying to install the packages even though the initial Python install failed 
(hence the error messages). Afterwards I tried to install just a base Python 32 
bit and that failed too (from a binary Python 2.7.3 msi distro). So I guess I 
just need to install 64 bit Python along with separate packages and/or wait for 
the 64 bit Pythonxy to emerge.
