here is repository that I found with hidden leechermod support that can easily be unlocked for linux or Windows. (edit: or get already with mod here -- http://www.sb-innovation.de/f45/transmission-2-77-2-8x-leecher-mod-windows-linux-31407/ ) tr-lch-mod-gh

Once set up, from the clutch web client you right-click a torrent and select cheat mode from there.

in libtransmission announcer.c remove or comment out line #909 (NOT needed for Windows) "cheatMode = TR_CHEAT_DEACT; // deactivated always, comment out for fun" . . use transmission-master web client (download link is above) and in index.html remove lines #498 and #510 (Linux & Windows)

remove line #498 "<!-- deactivated always, for fun only see "deactivated always, comment out for fun" in announcer.c"

remove line #510 "-->"

found Windows version exe here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/transmissiondaemon/ which only needed the web-client index.html changes.

leecher mod achieved fine to me this way for both linux and Windows

The main repository here now contains 4 branches, 3 of which contain specifically RELEASE download in the form of binaries and source for the named respective platforms.
