It wouldn't hurt to be able to easily identify the content type up front and I think it makes more sense to use the mime type so I'd lean towards yes. - Shane

This seems to be logical to add, I would concur.
I have no examples with which to test this feature. Can any of the system providers come up with a use case and test this for us?
Should we add MIME type to the attributes of AttachmentType?
Most standards that include base 64 content include mime type to allow applications to know what do do with the content. This information can be inferred from DocType, but some uses might find it more straightforward to get the file type directly.
