A bit trivial, but I was getting stdout clutter when I ran it, because the array indices were floats, rather than integers

Some refactoring and bug fixing will help me sleep better :).

Code is still a bit messy, at some places in dire need of refactoring, comments and unit tests. First batch arrived today, with new configuration module and its unit tests + refactoring of the main file, reporting and recordings_io.
