Instead of this or while waiting to have time to do it:

Remove the splashscreen and add a small rectangle on the bottom-right, like the one of youtube, but text should be centered better.

evidence

I can't link to the personal page from there; at least, it is not simply but I wouldn't. The splashscreen is supposed to be informative only. It is meant to say "we're here, don't forget". but indeed, if there is to define a new style/look/content, I'll be glad to do it.

This note in regards of a bug reported by Matteo R.: remind self: this happen at the first access: image

Of course! It will be too much, I get to your point. With Salvo we thought maybe it's better to have just a micro reminder as it happens for yt. In this case the image I uploaded, "evidence collected" should also help us to explain the idea of "evidence". It would be nice if the splashscreen could appear only during global experiments, but this means upload a different versions of the addon, right?

Not necessarily, we can even create an API which alert extension-adopters about the upcoming test (or, a test is happening right now).

but the concept of splash-screen is provide information and demand interaction, the small popup seems to me more a passive reminder.

it is ok, I mean, we should have only the 'consent form' at the beginning and reminders later, but we're also addressing the issue of not having a consent form in potrex yet.

now with the new web-extension design this will change

can I close this issue? is the splashscreen going to die, right?

vecna commented 3 years ago

this issue is now about the small baloons appearing on the bottom-right for a few seconds
