Is there an open source version of this control?
We already have 4 top editors but can easily add more.

Apparently cute editor requires a lic file. Either we get an open source
version of it or we cannot use it.

you going to be absolutely against any proprietary product integration?
This is not open source. sad but true. and it also best html editor ever
and good advantage for CMS
you can get trial lic file (we do not talking about getting pirated one do we?)

We cannot add any proprietary components to Appleseed unless they provide us a
license.
That being said, we can allow users to upload their .lic file and then enable
the editor. I believe DNN does this for cute.
For now we have 4 of the top editors and they get the job done fine.

sad. they all weak. CuteEditor was best attraction to rainbow from,y point.
CuteEditor is a standalone product. proprietary product and should not
(and probably can`t) come with appleseed.
I`am talking only of possibility to use it inside appleseed. Mean you
can use it but get it pay for it and install in by yourself without no
guarantee from appleseed team.
you use proprietary ASP.NET and MS SQL. this should be same policy.
PS might be we can have sort of license on it. license policy allow
to distribute it with commercial products without limits.i`ll ask
about open source solutions.

CuteEditor works in Appleseed. Users can obtain a license on their own and
install it.
Currently we offer 4 of the top open source Editors and they work great. Even
our plain text editor has html code highlighting for quick edits.
This feautre is now verified and the discussion should be more on the support
forum.
