Tool to view the generated pipeline images as a movie

The pipeline generates casacore images in a given folder. We need a tool to view these images after the fact. Possible features of the tool:

Allow specification of multiple folders containing casacore images (as a python list). Will allow more than one days data to be viewed.
Show time, freq, pol/stokes and colorbar information.
Allow the creation of a movie of said images (with a specifiable frame rate) in a standard format (.avi, .mp4) etc and storage of the movie to disk.
The same tool should also be able to operate on the .png (and later FITS) QuickLook files.

At the very least, the tool could use pyrap.image to extract out the data array, and display it using matplotlib. Another option is to use APLpy, however, this requires a conversion to FITS (We can probably see how the TraP guys are doing this efficiently). This can be attractive due to the ability of overlaying a coordinate system on the image, which currently I don't know how to do with pyrap.images.
