Hm, is this really an issue though? The Last-Translator field will be updated again once people start translating. The thing here is that when pushing a translated file (which means offline translation) Transifex has no way of knowing whether the person that uploads the file is actually a translator or not. TBH, the current behavior seems reasonable to me.
It will set correctly as soon as a translator updates it, but the case is that some of the translators are not working on the project very frequently.
It just would help keeping track of the translators (for giving them credits). I do no want it to be default behaviour, but maybe with a parameter -no-translator and an error message for files not containing a valid e-mail.
My usecase is: get the upstream file, fix the copright lines so that transifex recognizes them and push the file upstream. That way I want to avoid the trouble of losing previous translators.
tx overwrites the last-translator field when pushing the existing po files. Could be disabled by default or at least be disabled optional.
Right now, the project owner or maintainer who sets up the project will be last translator for every language.
