The suggestions can be dismissed with Esc or F9 (the last one being advertised on the View menu).

This is a bit of a problem, although I'm not sure what the best solution will be. Since Virtaal doesn't yet provide a way to enter it, we can expect it to be slightly less of a problem than it would be otherwise. Of course, it is still an issue in any kind of situation where people collaborate, even with files coming from Pootle possibly having these comments.

We could maybe make the suggestions display lower down, below the translator comments. It doesn't feel optimal, but I can't think of something else, and it isn't all bad.

The use case here is having a bridging language (e.g. Spanish) strings in translator comments for localizing an indigenous language (e.g. Quechua/Aymara, etc.). This can be accomplished with instrans from http://www.runasimipi.org/

A separate enhancement ticket will be filed suggesting that poswap offer this functionality (insert bridging lang into translator comments) as it is quite useful for indigenous langs, in particular, and anything that aids indigenous lang L10n is a huge win overall.

There is plenty of real-estate to the left and right of the msgid / msgstr boxes. If you want to get really fancy (not necessarily recommended), you'd put translator comments on the left in LTR langs and on the right in RTL langs so the eye flow remains the same from comment to msgstr box.
