Microsoft translator parsing fails for specific string #3137

Version: 0.7.0

Hi,

I am using v0.7.1-1 of virtaal on Debian and I am very happy with its feature set and the productive interface.

Anyway: for one specific string to be translated I discovered a weird parsing result fromt microsoft's translator service.

Here is the text:

(the substition string is sphinx/rst syntax)

The suggestion from MS translator is the following:

I selected German -> English translation.

Cheers! Lars

Good to hear from you, Lars!

This is pretty funny. I have a suspicion it is a bug on the web service. In fact, I wonder if it might be a security hole. Anyway, try this patch. We might need to do more than this, but play with it a while and see if you can improve it further. We're working towards a new release now, so this can maybe go in an official version quite soon if it proves to be useful. I'm just not sure what the effect will be on real XML translation - I think it will break it completely, so I don't really want to commit this right now like this.
