I recently purchased a Doogee S80 and was very disappointed that I could not program it for repeater use. The DMR features are also extremely limited. There was very little information available about the two-way radio specs and features, but I took a chance and ordered one to play with. I am very happy with the S80 overall, but I need to find a way to expand its capabilities. My first thought was the possibility of using the RFinder app to send the radio the frequencies and PL code via the RFinderPI feature. This has been implemented on several similar type products from Runbo. It would seem like the easiest way to enable repeater capabilities, not to mention taking advantage of it being a smart phone with access to the repeater database. One click and you're talking on the repeater.
RFinderPI (is a real time radio programming) open source project. Integrating this into some Doogee phones would be a fantastic upgrade. I was very happy to find there are others also looking to mod this radio on GitHub. :)
