CRAN release (ETA late 2022Q1)

Prepare for release:

• [x] Release development version of {gridpattern} to CRAN (ETA mid/late February)

  • Need the new gridpattern::alphaMaskGrob() functionality for revised geom_sf_pattern()

• [x] Update DESCRIPTION to use new {gridpattern} CRAN release

  • Perhaps wait a few days for CRAN to build Windows/OSX binaries

• [x] #71

• [x] #72

• [x] #74

• [x] #75

• [x] devtools::check_win_devel()

• [x] rhub::check_for_cran()

• [x] Write cran-comments.md

Submit to CRAN:

• [x] Bump to "release" version number
• [x] Build package tarball with R CMD build making sure to exclude enough vignettes in .Rbuildignore to get vignette size down with help of (not yet written) .Rbuildignore_CRAN
• [x] Upload at https://xmpalantir.wu.ac.at/cransubmit/ copying and pasting cran-comments.md into "Optional comment" field
• [x] Click on e-mail confirming package submitted

Wait for CRAN:

• [x] Probably will need to do a revise and resubmit of minor changes
• [x] Accepted :tada:
• [x] Do a Github release (which will "tag" version)

Not more than 5 MB for a CRAN package, please.

Looks like we need to .Rbuildignore more vignettes and/or shrink the README (for CRAN version)?

• Re-submitted {ggpattern} to CRAN
• To bring package tarball under 5 MB we now omit the (mainly visual) unit tests (on top of omitting 7 package vignettes)

{ggpattern} source package now on CRAN. Windows/macOS binaries may take a few days...
