Deprecation Fix for Passing strings or symbols to the middleware has not been tagged #25

While the fix for the railtie has been added to master, the latest tagged version, 1.1.6, still contains the deprecated syntax.

Sorry, but I don't really plan to maintain this -- I'd suggest a fork or just using the git repo in bundler if that's still working well enough.
