Dual mining not working? #787

Closed ForbiddenEra closed 2 years ago

ForbiddenEra commented 2 years ago

RTX3060 (EVGA 12g-p5-3657-KR GA104 A1 (470.05 won't pick it up) Win10 496.49 (also tried 472.12)

When trying any of the 'unlock' .bats (no settings changed for testing, not even wallet) I get 0 h/s on the 2nd coin and ~20mh/s on eth?

Not sure why it's not working for me.

Thanks for reporting. We'll fix it in the next version. Could you try running the miner with --lhr-tune 30 for now, it should force t-rex to recognise your 3060 as LHR.

ForbiddenEra commented 2 years ago

I should note I tried both with a 2070S installed & both cards on risers with and without "--devices 1" to limit to the 3060.

I also tried with only the 3060 directly installed into the main GPU port w/out the 2070S plugged in, this scenario is what I pasted the log file from.

I tried --lhr-tune 30 and it is now showing hashrate for both coins.

With 58%, -450, +1100, I'm getting 15mh/s eth + 11mh/s kapow.. I get 36.5mh/s on lol1.34 and about 22mh/s for kapow (w/same t-rex) by itself, so this is about 41% of "partially unlocked" on eth and 50% of regular kapow w/t-rex -- maybe a bit lower than I was thinking?

15mh/s is about 30% of 50mh/s which is what the card theoretically could do fully unlocked but 11mh/s is only 50% of what it's doing locked for kapow letalone what it might do unlocked for kapow..? Shouldn't I be seeing closer to like 17-18mh/s on kapow?

Edit: upto 15.8mh/s on kapow (14.7 on eth) now with a bit more power allowed. forgot more power needed for dual. was doing about 115w for 36.5mh/s.. now already at 155w for dualmine.

ForbiddenEra commented 2 years ago

Also - if I run it without "--devices 1" to limit it to the 3060 but with the 2070S installed, it seems to want to treat the 2070S also as LHR? The 2070S doesn't have enough memory to dualmine anyway.

So can you create an option to only apply it to certain cards or something? For now I'll run a 2nd instance

ForbiddenEra commented 2 years ago

So at best I'm able to get about 16 MH/s eth + 16 MH/s rvn = $2.84/day total according to whattomine.

With lol1.34 partial unlock as an example, I'm getting 36.5mh/s on eth = $2.84/day total according to whattomine.

110w eth vs 155w dualmine ?? Unless I'm not tuning right, I don't see this as a "full potential" unlock - it seems to be only unlocking the same amount of hash power as other miners?

What kind of numbers are other people seeing with 3060s? If I could even get like 17.5 eth + 20 rvn ($3.34/day) that would be an improvement but if I take power above like 81% it locks up the card.

Don't get me wrong - I, and I'm sure everyone else appreciates your hard work - but I, and again, I'm sure everyone else with a LHR card would love to get 100% of it's potential - which should be about 50mh/s for my 3060 ($3.89/day on eth according to whattomine)

--lhr-tune can be applied separately for each GPU, e.g. --lhr-tune 30,0,35

DjHillier55 commented 2 years ago

I can confirm what OP has experienced. I just acquired an EVGA 3060 XC, GA104 core, device ID 2487. T-REX does not recognize this as an LHR GPU while it seems to have the same limitations as the latest LHR v2 cards. Attempting to dual mine ETH + RVN with --lhr-tune 30 I get constant LHR detections with hashrates in the 1-5 MH/s range for both algos. Hopefully this can be addressed as it seems alot of the recent 3060s coming out are GA104 based. Fortunately RVN is unrestricted and is most profitable as of now.
