This needs to be implemented in the firmware first, because we'd need to verify the proof of ownership in the device.

That said, I am not a big fan of FIO, because it seems quite limited and it enforces an address re-use.
Some standard built on top of this proposal to store addresses in DNS would make more sense imo.
I am not a fan of FIO either but it is being adopted in many wallets as a way to register a FIO address and to send crypto to other FIO addresses. I do not think Trezor should adopt the ability to register a FIO address but to only adopt sending crypto to FIO addresses. I think Unstoppable Domains are better than FIO addresses.
I would like to suggest a warning message before sending crypto to a FIO address for the user that the FIO address maybe recycled and in the hands of a new owner which could require the user to have to check off a box before sending crypto to that FIO address.
Please add the ability to send crypto to any FIO address
