TripIt Pro subscription upgrades with integration #254

Hello! Prefacing this post by saying I'm NOT a developer, just someone who can muddle through API documentation fairly well. I didn't see anything addressing this and was directed to post here by TripIt support for answers...

We are looking at integrating the TripIt API with our software app. Is it possible to automatically upgrade a TripIt subscription to TripIt Pro from within an external app using the API? For example, if a user wanted access to TripIt Pro data in our app and they only had a TripIt (not Pro) subscription, could we offer an option to upgrade this in our app for them, and send the request through the API to handle this for them? Or is this something that the user would need to do in TripIt (outside of our app) and then we'd pick up the upgrade when they authenticated in our app again?

Hi, Thanks for reaching out. Tripit doesn't support subscription upgrade (to Pro) from third-party apps, that have to be done via Tripit. If the user upgrades to Pro, API developers will get access to the data. I hope that answers your question.
