View menu issues (Maybe Linux specific?) #60

Closed NHunsicker closed 3 years ago

With version 1.6.1 if I go to any of the view settings that have an arrow over to more settings (orientation, etc.) if I try and move the mouse over to the sub menu the sub menu just disappears.

Reverting to 1.3.0 (the last version that I had saved locally) doesn't have this issue. I'm able to mouse over orientation and select different settings.

https://github.com/AvaloniaUI/Avalonia/issues/4729 Unfortunately, this seems to be an Avalonia framework bug on Linux. No update on when this might be addressed, but it hasn't been in the latest builds. A workaround until it can be addressed would be to use the keyboard to navigate the menus.

In the future, I'm going to explore .NET MAUI, once it is available. There have been a lot of weird issues like this popping up with Avalonia and it is a matter of picking your poison when choosing which version of the framework to use, I'm afraid.

It appears the issue is resolved in the newer Avalonia version. I'm testing it currently and will add it to v1.7.1, if it is fixed.

v1.8.0+ have the new Avalonia version with this issue fixed. Closing this issue.
